The Sports Union President is one of 9 sabbaticals elected each year by the student body. Each sabbatical submits a monthly report detailing their meetings, events, campaigns etc. Below are some of the issues dealt with by the Sports Union President during each month and the full report if you wish to read them.
Reports 2010-11
July 2010I had a Meeting with the Director of Physical Resources to discuss facility developments across the campuses. The first Sports Union Health and Safety Committee Meeting was held. August 2010I attended a Falicities Meeting at Coleraine to discuss ways of funding new facilities. I organised the first budget meetings of the year to discuss potential budgets for clubs. September 2010I attended the first CAU Meeting of the year. I met with Pro-vice Chancellor for Student Services and Sport to discuss issues in relation to clubs seeking sponsorship. I organised and attended all freshers fayres with the help of our Sports Union Administrators and Sports Union Development Officer. To read the full report click here to download 191KB |
October 2010I got the ball rolling in relation to the Transport Tender and organised our initial meetings. I organised the Club Training workshops for the Clubs and I also attended a CUSAI meeting in Dublin. To read the full report click here to download 190KB |
November 2010I attended the Sports Scholarships Awards. I attended a facilities Meeting at Magee to discuss the issues raised to me by the Clubs at Magee and also to discuss the core hours which they receive. To read the full report click here to download 189KB |
December 2010/January 2011I had a Meeting with the Vice-Chancellor and informed him of the all the issues facing student sport. I had a meeting with sport and Recreation atColeraine to discuss a complaint which was made to me about outside groups using the facilities. To read the full report click here to download 188KB |
February 2011I attended General Council where changes to the Sports Union were dicussed. We also organised a Recruitment Drive on each campus to help the clubs increase their memberships. I held open campus meetings on each campus. To read the full report click here to download 188KB |
